The El Magnifico Hotel is an architectural delight. This custom built facility is truly a work of art. Every room is tastefully decorated in its own unique style. Manager and Host, Gerard Herbert, will welcome you with open arms and pamper you with his hospitality and class: you won't want to leave! The El Magnifico is located on the beach at the east end of Cabarete Bay, about a ten minute walk along the beach from the Vela center.

You will find the El Magnifico to be charming, quiet, and very comfortable. Many feel that the El Magnifico is the best hotel in town. It's the most popular Vela property amongst return guest. With a beautiful pool, manicured landscape, and elegantly quaint bar it speaks for itself.

Whether you're on your own, with a group of friends, or have a family with children, our uniquely designed condominiums & apartments will provide you with everything you need for your stay. All units have Caribbean décor, air-conditioning, kitchen facilities, and a terrace or balcony to take in the beautiful views. When not admiring the ocean view, you'll enjoy the tranquil setting of our swimming pool surrounded by lush tropical gardens. It's the small details that have been taken care of. We offer free WiFi access throughout the property, cell phone rentals, and an experienced staff to help you with restaurant recommendations, activity organization, nanny services, etc.

ROOM OPTIONS

The property is comprised of 6 separate buildings, each with three floors and a variety of room options ranging from a simple Standard room for two or a 3-Bedroom Penthouse with access to a private roof-top terrace. Most rooms (either From Studios to Suites to Apartments) come with 1 Queen size bed, while each Studio and includes a pull-out sofa-bed. Below are details of all the buildings:

Building 1 - Caribbean Classic Design:
This building is closest to the ocean and decorated in a Caribbean Classic design. Made up of three levels housing two Studio units on the ground floor plus two Suite Deluxe units on the second floor, each with complete kitchen and en-suite bathroom. Ideal for couples, couples with small children. On the top floor there is a large 2-Bedroom Penthouse apartment (the only unit with a King bed in the master bedroom) that is particularly suited for couples sharing or families. Apartment features complete kitchen, 3 bathrooms, living room and patios/balconies. Maximum Occupancy 2 adults + 3rd child under 15 (Studio & Suite Deluxe) and 4 (2-Bedroom Penthouse).

Building 2 - Caribbean Art Design:
This building is located in the middle of the property and decorated in Caribbean Art Design. Made up of three levels housing two Studios on the ground floor each with complete kitchen and en-suite bathroom. Truly unique bi-level 2-Bedroom Penthouse apartment on the second and third floor, the only apartment with a pull-out sofa-bed in the living room. Apartment features complete kitchen and large living room with full bathroom on the first floor, both bedrooms with en-suite bathroom on the second floor, and patios/balconies throughout. NO A/C IN 2-BEDROOM UNIT, but with open floor-plan, lots of screened- windows plus stone walls and floor, the unit remains quite comfortable. Maximum Occupancy 2 or 3rd child under 15 (Studio & Suite Deluxe) and 5 (2-Bedroom Penthouse).

Building 3 - Art Deco Design:
This Building is located on the southern edge of the property nestled into the gardens and the furthest from the beach, still only a short minute walk through the beautiful paths that weave around the other buildings. There are three 2-Bedroom apartments, all uniquely decorated in a beautiful Art Deco Design and their spaciousness makes them particularly suited for friends, couples sharing and families. All units feature complete kitchen, en-suite bathroom in each bedroom plus additional full bathroom, large living room and patios/balconies. Maximum Occupancy 4.

Buildings 4 & 5 - Contemporary Design:
These two uniquely designed buildings, available for rent since the fall of 2002 are made up of three levels of 2-Bedroom units, including the Presidential Penthouse on the top floor. All units feature complete kitchen, 3 bathrooms, living room and patios/balconies. Ground and second floor units can be divided to create a Standard room and a 1-Bedroom Royal Suite. Each top floor unit is home to the fantastic 2-Bedroom Presidential Penthouse, with high vaulted ceilings and stairs leading to Mezzanine sofa lounge area and access to the private roof-top terrace that has incredible views plus outdoor shower. Maximum Occupancy 2 adults (Standard), 2 adults + 3rd child (1-Bedroom Royal Suite) and 4 (2-Bedroom Apartments).

Building 6 – Modern Design:
This is the latest incarnations at El Magnifico. Uniquely designed, available for rental since Summer 2007. Made up of three levels with a possible 5 rental units. On the second floor there are two Standard rooms with en-suite bath, private entrance, and mini-fridge plus balcony. Also on the second floor is a 1-Bedroom Superior Suite with complete modern kitchen, en-suite bath, living room with additional full bathroom, and large balcony. Combine this with one or both of the Standard rooms to create a 2-Bedroom or 3-Bedroom Superior Suite. On the top floor is the highly popular and much-waitlisted 2-Bedroom Superior Penthouse with high vaulted ceilings and stairs leading to Mezzanine sofa lounge area and access to the private roof-top terrace that has incredible views plus outdoor shower. Maximum Occupancy 2 adults (Standard), 2 adults + 3rd child (1-Bedroom Superior Suite), 4 (2-Bedroom Superior Suite & Penthouse), and 6 (3-Bedroom Superior Suite). 

OF NOTE

You want balconies? Many of the 2-Bedroom apartments have severeral: Building 1 has 4 of them, Building 2 has 5, while Building 4 and 5 offer 2 or 3 balconies. The others? Building 3 and Building 6 each offer a huge 100 sq ft balcony off off the living room, with ocean views from the second and third floor unit.

Need another balcony? Reserve a Presidential (Building 4 and 5) or Superior Penthouse (Building 6) and you will have access to a private rooftop terrace with lounge chairs and great views. There is even a walled open-ceiling shower so you can get cleaned up while star-gazing!

Although the beach directly in front of the property is beautiful, it is not ideal for swimming due to rocks, reef, shorebreak.

KiteRs who bring their own gear can launch from the beach upwind of El Magnifico and kite away from the crowds at Kitebeach and /or make a great starting point for a downwinder each day. WARNING: ROCKS, REEF, AND GUSTY WINDS AT LAUNCH MAKE THIS A TRULY EXPERT-ONLY SITE.
