Baja’s “El Norte” winds blow down the Sea of Cortez from November to March providing some of the best bump and jump conditions this side of the equator. Friendly morning breezes are perfect for longboarding, while stronger winds typically kick in around mid-day. Conditions are ideal for intermediate through expert sailors. Generally, sailors should know how to waterstart or be ready to learn. A novice can sail on light-wind mornings or low wind days. With winds above 18 mph, a widely spaced, rolling swell provides great ramps for jumping. Mornings are usually flat. Water temp ranges from 65-74ºF. Wetsuit recommended.
